Entry and Quarantine Procedures in the Context of COVID-19

KNOU is preparing for ICDE Leadership Summit 2022 in hope that the COVID-19 situation will get better by the time when the Summit will be held. However, for now, inbound travelers entering Korea should follow steps as follows.
  1. STEP1

FOREIGNERS ON SHORT-TERM VISIT are required to receive a COVID-19 test (PCR), to enter mandatory quarantine(at their own expense) for 14 days, at a facility designated by Korea government.

※ Mandatory 2-week self-quarantine after entry is exempted for A-1 (Diplomat) and A-2 (Government Official) visa holders.

※ According to the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency, people are considered ‘fully vaccinated’ 2 weeks after completing their recommended doses of a vaccine, which is included in the WHO Emergency Use Listing.

  2. STEP2

All participants entering Korea must carry and submit the original copy of ‘PCR-negative certificate,’ issued in advance by a certified medical organization acknowledged by the Korean missions in their home countries.

  3. STEP3

Upon entry, all participants must undergo a PCR test at the designated space within the airport. Sample collection and analysis will take approximately 9 to 16 hours.

  4. STEP4

Entrants exempted from quarantine must get a “self-diagnosis mobile application” (run by the Ministry of Health and Welfare) installed for reinforced active monitoring. More information and installation link are available at http://ncov.mohw.go.kr/selfcheck.
